Olivier Burri leads the Tour European Rally in Rallye International du Valais
The 8-time winner of the event Olivier Burri took his Škoda Fabia in the lead at stage 4, when Sébastien Carron's Ford Fiesta was sidelined by a mechanical failure. Burri has an advantage of 20.6 seconds on Jaroslav Orsák. The czech driver, who set fastest time on the fourth stage, is fighting with the Hyundai New Generation i20 R5 of series leader Giandomenico Basso who follows him by less than 3”. Basso's rival for the championship, Bernd Casier, is fifth just under 40” behind the leader.
Swiss driver Thomas Schmid leads the TER2 Cup ahead of championship contenders Joachim Wagemans and Simon Vallentin.
In the TER Production Trophy, Jim van den Heuvel has a comfortable lead over team mate Henk Bakkenes, while the TER 2WD Trophy sees a great battle between Niki Bühler and Ignat Isaev divided by only 6.5”, with Alexandru Filip further back in third and Renato Pita in fourth.
