25.11.2017

The final round of the 2017 TER – Tour European Rally, the Tuscan Rewind, is a beautiful sporting playground for the crews of the new concept of rally series.

Jaroslav Orsák, with his A Team Ford Fiesta R5, set the fastest time in all the 9 special stages of the opening leg, which he ended with a lead of over one minute on Argentinian Juan Carlos Alonso, who returns to the series after his previous appearance in Madeira, this time driving a Škoda Fabia R5.

Jim van den Heuvel's Mitsubishi Evo X, leading the TER Production Trophy, and the Ford Fiesta R5 of Tomas Kurka fought a great battle for the third step of the podium, the former holding an advantage of 10.5” at the overnight regroup.

Another great duel, for the victory in the TER2 Cup, opposes the Peugeot 208s of Jacopo Trevisani and Joachim Wagemans, divided by 15.5” and currently fifth and sixth.

Filip Pyck, returning to the TER after his previous appearance at home in Ypres Rally, is seventh driving a Mitsubishi Evo X.

The top ten is closed by the Opel Adam of Roland Stengg, Renato Pita's Ford Fiesta which leads the TER 2WD Trophy, and the Mitsubishi of Henk Bakkenes who retired after a spectacular crash in the opening stage.

The Tuscan Rewind overall classification after the first leg saw the Ford Fiesta WRC of Lorenzo Bertelli take the lead in the last stage ahead of the Škoda Fabia R5 of multiple event winner Alessandro Taddei and the Ford Fiesta R5 driven by Jaroslav Orsák.

The second leg of Tuscan Rewind will start at 08:00 on Saturday, Nov 25th, comprising 4 special stages for 63,14 kms, including the TER Power Stage. The first car will climb on the final podium, under the Montalcino Fortress, at 14:30.
