TER Round 2 Ypres Rally victory for Bernd Casier

The belgian crew of Bernd Casier – Pieter Vyncke (Ford Fiesta R5 – Team Floral) won the TER – Tour European Rally in Ypres Rally, Round 2 of the 2017 series. After finishing third in the opening round in Transilvania, with this result Casier reduces the gap to series leaders Giandomenico Basso – Lorenzo Granai's BRC Racing Team Hyundai New Generation i20 R5.


The two crews battled from the early stages of the great belgian event and Casier took the lead after the third stage to keep it until the finish, earning maximum points also thanks to the fastest time in the Power Stage.
The italian crew, winner of Transilvania Rally, lost some time during the opening day then tried to close on the leader before deciding to settle for championship points.

The last podium step was for the Ford Fiesta of Polle Geusens – Filip Cuvelier ahead of the sister car of Pieter-Jan Maeyaert – Bert Feys. Fifth place and victory in the TER Production trophy for Jim van den Heuvel – Jouri Dockx on a Mitsubishi Evo X. The Ford Fiestas of Bruno Parmentier – Koen De Waele and Philip Cracco – Jeannick Breyne finish in sixth and seventh, in front of Timo and Rebecca van der Marel's Opel Adam, winner in the TER 2WD Trophy. The top ten is completed by the Mitsubishi of Filip Pyck – Peter Dehouck, and Joachim Wagemans – Hein Verschuuren's Peugeot 208, winner of the TER2 Cup.
