TER Drivers trust top ten in Liezen after the opening city superspecial.

The 2016 Škoda Rallye Liezen got off to a great start for the Tour European Rally drivers with the first stage. Crews tackled the 4,81 km superspecial in the centre of Liezen amongst thousands of enthusiastic fans.

Hermann Neubauer (Ford Fiesta WRC) was fastest, 1,3 seconds ahead of the sister car of Gerwald Grössing. Ten-time Austrian champion Raimund Baumschlager was third with his Fabia R5. Local hero Andreas Aigner (Škoda Fabia S2000) was fifth despite some clutch issues. The Citroen DS3 R3 Max of Simon Wagner was fastest in 2WD and 8th overall, while Tamara Molinaro on her first competitive outing with her Opel Adam R2 ended the day in 23rd overall. 

The drivers entered in the Tour European Rally series took a clean sweep of the first ten overall places.

Competitive action in Škoda Rallye Liezen will resume on Saturday, September 24th with the second special stage,Oblarn 1 (7,74 km), starting at 9:00
