Rachele Somaschini targets increased title tally in Sardinia

Two-time Italian Ladies’ Champion aims for a maiden TER Ladies Trophy in Rally Terra Sarda

Italy’s Rachele Somaschini will make her second 2022 appearance in the TER - Tour European Rally, after the season opener in Rally Terra Valle del Tevere.

Driving her usual Citroën C3, Rachele will be joined by local codriver Fabio Salis, who finished second in the 2018 edition and whose knowledge of the event will be a valuable asset for the crew.

Rachele Somaschini said: “I’m very excited to be back in Sardinia for the final round of the TER, Rally Terra Sarda. I love this awesome land and the friendly people living here, so I’m so grateful to my supporters, sponsors, and also to the organisation of the Rally, Porto Cervo Racing, for this great opportunity.
This race will be a very good test also for my next rallyes on tarmac, I need to improve my pace on this surface.
I’ll take part in this rally with a local co-driver (and friend), Fabio Salis, and we really want to do a good job together on these beautiful stages. I’m sure that his support alongside me will help a lot.
Sardinia has always been close to me and to my charity project #CorrerePerUnRespiro (Racing for a breath): I’ll be glad to meet people in the service park with FFC volunteers to spread awareness about cystic fibrosis and support the Scientific research with our gadgets."
