Kiwi ace clinches 3rd season title after maiden TER Series and ERC success

Hyundai New Zealand driver Hayden Paddon, codriven by John Kennard on a Hyundai i20 Rally 2, has won the Rally Bay of Plenty, securing a record 7th New Zealand Rally Championship title.

The TER Ambassador, 2022 TER – Tour European Rally, Asia-Pacific and New Zealand Champion, has claimed another success in a season which has seen the Paddon-Kennard crew clinch the maiden TER Series, the World Series of TER, thanks to a record 10th victory in New Zealand’s Otago Rally, followed by a sensational final stage win in Rally Barbados.

The Hyundai New Zealand driver also made history when Paddon became the first non-European driver to win the European Rally Championship*, before rounding off his season in style with a back-to-back national title after a fight which went down to the wire into the final round.

Hayden Paddon said: “Massive credit to the team and the amount of work everyone’s put in this year, and all in all, we’re delighted to top off a pretty successful season”.
